SAFEINTUNNELS

"Currently, there is no consistently structured training standard for firefighters deployed in tunnel fire incidents in Europe," says project manager Gerhard Schöpf. "SAFEINTUNNELS" is an Erasmus+ funded project in the field of vocational training from the key action "Strategic Partnerships". Gerhard Schöpf: "It is the substantive and structural push for harmonization and digitization in the training of firefighters in Europe. It focuses on road and railway tunnels as a symbolic lifeline of a lived European idea."
Strategic Partners
In addition to the LFS Tirol  the partnership is supported by four organisations: Rogaland Og Redning IKSfrom Norway, Beneke & Prinzhorn GmbH from Germany, professional fire brigade Reutlingen from Germany and the Brenner base tunnel BBT SE from Italy (associated). The partners want to describe the training path of emergency services in the fire brigade at the most diverse levels and define a corresponding concept to support European freedom of movement in the job descriptions of the fire brigade. "SAFEINTUNNELS" stands for uniform, controlled, but above all safe solving of problems in tunnel fire incidents.
digitalization
"A cross-border exchange between learners, teachers and learning content requires not only harmonization but also the use of modern learning materials," says LFS Tirol manager Georg Waldhart. SAFEINTUNNELS will therefore expand and support the central, practice-driven learning and teaching model in the fire service with blended learning elements and virtual teaching units in order to promote Europe-wide use." reduce in order to be careful with the resource of time and to promote flexible learning.
